If Fault Code identifies switch / wiring fault and testing the circuit proves no fault. ECU failure should be assumed.
Resetting Encoder following a sequence fault
If Resetting the power does not clear an encoder sequence fault, this may be due to the fault occurring during an inwards travel operation. To reset the fault use the following method;
1. Switch power'OFF'.
2. Set switches 'F' and ‘G’ on SW7 on options board to the 'OFF' position. (Refer to IMAGE 9 for switch location).
3. Switch power 'ON'
4. Switch power 'OFF' and reset switches to desired configuration (Refer to IMAGE 9 for switch configuration).
5. Switch power 'ON'.
Notes on Troubleshooting
• The circuits in the wiring system are split into two groups, 'A' and 'B'. The two groups use a 24V DC puls-ing signal. The 'A' pulses are timed differently to the 'B' pulses. This aids the electronics to detect incorrect wiring and faults.
. Voltage tests should not be carried out on ‘A’ or *B’ circuits.
Continuity tests should only be carried out with the batteries disconnected and relevant plugs removed from the printed circuit board. Failure to do so may result in instrument damage.
• The use remote of controls to operate the stairlift is recommended when trouble shooting, in order to by-pass chair arm and seat load switches.
• When switching power on to ECU, all LED’s on ECU will illuminate for approximately 1 second. This checks operation of LEDs.
• In the event of a complete power failure to the ECU, inspect 20A inline battery fuse and fuse F1 (500mA) on main ECU.
• The options board (where fitted) is supplied via fuse F2 (3.15A S505 Anti-Surge) on main ECU.
